San Francisco Day 4
May 20, 2007 at 12:12 am (Images, Personal, Travel)
Today we moved from the downtown area to Fisherman’s Wharf, to the Tuscan Inn, and life is so much better. We’re now away from the hustle (mostly) and bustle of the Union Square/Streetcar/Convention area and situated in the easy-to-escape-from tourist area of the Wharf.
San Francisco Day 3

Today a lot of ground was covered and I went to even more places I’d never been to in the city. But today’s entry consists of more photos and fewer words.

Boy are my feet tired…
I did a lot of walking today while Anne was at her conference.
San Francisco Day 1
May 16, 2007 at 10:47 am (Personal, Travel)
I haven’t been to San Francisco in 3 years and each experience has been unique. In fact, every other visit either puts me off from or makes me fall in love with the city. This time it seems less charming than the last, with aggressively verbal homeless people and reports of beatings in the downtown tourist area near where we’re staying. We prefer to stay near Fisherman’s Wharf, but will be stuck in this area until Friday due to the conference Anne is attending.

Photos of Joe’s art exhibition as well as photos of our recent trip to Las Vegas are now posted at this link: http://web.mac.com/jyeary/iWeb/Site/
Thanks to the oddities of using iWeb on multiple computers, it doesn’t link to any of the previously posted photos, but they can still be accessed by using the links in the bar on the left.

Can’t Get Enough of Vegas
May 6, 2007 at 12:37 pm (Personal, Travel)
Yep, back in Las Vegas again.
We’re here for a few days of personal down time. The last trip was strictly business and not much in the way of fun was had, but this trip should be different.
One of my favorite things about this place is that everywhere you look, once you get away from the strip, are mountains. Las Vegas gives the impression of being a city inside a bowl, surrounded by mountains. Last time I was here it rained one morning and there was snow in the mountains. Beautiful. It’s certainly different here than in the East where I grew up and, even though it isn’t (naturally) green, it’s very beautiful in a different way.
Of course there’s always Las Vegas Boulevard to remind you where you are. Oh well.
