Riverwalk, San Antonio

When most people think of San Antonio they think of the Alamo and the Riverwalk. Yesterday we visited both, although the line for the Alamo was so long that we chose not to go inside. Besides, we remembered it anyway (sorry).

We walked a lot of the Riverwalk though, going south all the way to the Pioneer Mill and Guenther House, both located in Sauerkraut bend. Most people don’t leave the tourist area around the hotels and miss some of the nicest parts of the river. On the way back we walked through some of the King William historic district and gaped at the amazing houses.

If you should ever find yourself in San Antonio, do yourself a favor and tour the Riverwalk less traveled. You’ll love it.

Vicksburg Photo

Here is this year’s photo from Vicksburg, MS. This one shows a barge making it’s way up the Mississippi River at sunset.

Posting a photo from Vicksburg isn’t actually an annual tradition, but we’ve stopped there two years in a row, so why not?
