Anne and I traveled with 6 other people from our church to Hungary and Romania during the last third of October of 2008. We worked on several projects and were in a few different cities. We met a lot of wonderful people, drank excellent coffee wherever we went and sampled an amazing variety of goulash.

I was in San Francisco again in October for the third time this year. It’s no secret that this is my favorite city in the US but even with all the visits, there are still things I want to do that have simply not happened because of time constraints. This time I was able to do a couple of new things, but still ran out of time.
Day one I rented a bicycle in North Beach and rode along the bay, up into the Marin Headlands, then along the coast, through Golden Gate Park then back through the Presidio. I wanted to get to the Legion of Honor Museum, the California Museum of Sciences and the Japanese Tea Garden, but they’re going to have to wait for another trip.
The rest of the week I was occupied with work, and spent most of the time in the Union Square area and near Moscone. I needed to get away from downtown by the time the weekend came.
Turns out that the Glide Floss Bridge to Bridge Run was taking place while I was there. Not knowing if I’d ever have the chance to participate in the run again, I signed up and ran the entire 7k. It was a great experience and got me thinking that traveling to partipate in similar events would give Anne and I a great reason to travel. Hmmm…
