Daily City Photos

While poking around on the Flagstaff Daily Photo blog, I realized there were links to many other daily city photos.

Here is the link to the city photo blog portal.

Swimming in Georgia

Yesterday, while walking into work from the train, I had my backpack slung on just one shoulder because it was the only way to stay cool. It wasn’t really hot, but felt like the beginning of the Georgia swimming season.

The end of spring here signals the beginning of days where, if you walk outside, you feel the need for a shower or a wetsuit within minutes. The humidity here is more like something you wear.

I remember thinking how nice it would be to hop a plane for San Francisco or Flagstaff so I could escape to a place where dampness was a choice, not an inevitability.

This morning I walked outside and there was the humidity again, but this time it was visible. Visible water hanging in the air; that’s damp. Oh well, maybe tomorrow I’ll just wear a swimsuit to work.

Taking Transit To Work

Last week I discovered a renewed interest in taking transit to work instead of driving. After getting cut off by an inconsiderate driver, who ignored my turn signal for at least a mile and then kept pace with me so I was boxed in, I decided that I really dislike the way people drive here and I don’t want to play with them anymore. To minimize the risk to me and the car, I hop on the train. Now I just have to dodge them in the crosswalk…

Arizona Photos

Here is a link to the photos from our trip to Arizona in April.

Flagstaff Photos

During our recent trip to Arizona, we passed through Flagstaff on our way to the Grand Canyon. I fell in love with the place immediately. It’s a small, cozy little city, with the kind of brisk weather I enjoy. We stopped at Macy’s coffee for breakfast and hung with the locals for a bit. I didn’t have time to take many photos of the place since I was driving most of the time I was in town, but today I found this site dedicated to images of Flagstaff. This guy takes nice shots and they make me want to go back even more.
