Upcoming Glamour Trips

On the cusp of a couple of trips to the travel hotspots of Moultrie, Georgia, follwed by Cleveland, Ohio. I’m sure they’re not on everyone’s list of places to see, but they are places none the less and I get to go there.

Actually, I’ve been to Moultrie several times because a good friend lives there. It’s south Georgia and it’s July so we’ll be staying inside a lot.

Never been to Cleveland (isn’t that a song lyric?) however, and I keep hearing mixed reviews of the place. People either like it or don’t care to go back. I’m actually looking forward to it because it’s a new place, plus it isn’t south Georgia in July.

Wildlife photographer Greg du Toit was so determined to capture the perfect image of wild lions drinking he sat submerged in their watering hole for three months.

The defiant photographer had endured a year of failed attempts at getting the right picture after building hides and digging trenches near the animals’ drinking spot.

Underwater Volcanic Eruption Witnessed for the First Time

What do you have here? Lava flowing from a deep-ocean seafloor volcano, exploding into 35 foot long streams with bubbles as much as 3 feet across. This kind of action has never been witnessed before. (Somewhat surprising, no?) This clip comes out of The University of Washington. And the real action, which takes place near American Samoa, begins at the 1:28 mark.
